Criterion Systems’ rapid growth and a recent win has created the need for anContingency Planning Leadbased at our Government customer’s location in Alexandria, Virginia.


This position is responsible for leading the Contingency Planning for our customer in accordance with OMB A-130, Managing Information as a Strategic Resource and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-34 Revision 1, Contingency Planning Guide for Federal Information Systems. These duties require preparation of plans for general support systems and major applications to ensure continuity of operations. The candidate will be experienced in preparing Cyber Security contingencies (e.g., denial of service, intrusions, malware), and other eventualities and disruptions that have an impact on critical systems and business functions.

  • Maintain the customer’s Contingency Planning documentation

  • Service recovery plans

  • Application recovery plans

  • Backup operations plans

  • Information Systems Contingency Plans (ISCP)

  • Annual contingency planning

  • Assurance that the federal continuity directives are addressed

  • Update Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Continuity Framework

  • Risk Management Plans

  • Briefings as Lessons Learned

  • Provide leadership and support required in planning and sustainment activities

  • Provide oversight and management for conducting semi-annual Service Recovery testing

  • Coordinate planning with Government and Contractor staff from multiple internal and external organizations

  • Plan and coordinate with stakeholders to update System/Application Recovery Procedures, Test Scripts and for General Support systems changes needed for Service Recovery testing

  • Schedule and conduct Service Recovery planning meetings

  • Provide oversight, coordination and support during Service Recovery testing

  • Work with the customer’s stakeholders to develop Service Recovery Lessons Learned and Test Report documentation (after test completion)

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to update System/Application Recover Procedures and Test Scripts to incorporate updates and Lessons Learned (after test completion)


  • Degree in Computer Science or expertise in the field to compensate

  • 7 Years of Experience

  • Security + Certification

  • US Citizen eligible for a NACI/Public Trust clearance


  • Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP)

  • PMI-certified PMP

  • A + Certification

  • Network + Certification

  • Certified Ethical Hacker

  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)
