Job Description

The Accounting Manager will primarily be responsible for leading a team that performs the accounting for the revenue, receivables and all related accounting for the company. The successful candidate will also support the integration process of all acquisitions and align global revenue accounting to a central methodology and process. In addition the Accounting Manager will be the owner of the SOX controls related to this area and will provide input on design and improvement of them. They will also interface with the auditors when necessary to support the financial and controls testing. This role will support and be involved in the implementation of a revenue recognition system and the Oracle Cloud ERP. It will be necessary that this individual continuously find ways to improve processes and add efficiency to complete the close tasks in the most effective way. Along with the tasks noted above this person will support the FP&A; process by providing analysis related to the revenue on a monthly and quarterly basis.

In order to complete the aforementioned tasks, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for working with and developing productive relationships with various functions within the company including sales, contracts, IT, sales operations, and finance to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the company’s sales. This position will also be required to have an understanding of revenue recognition to give validity to the accuracy of the sales numbers being created. Furthermore, the Accounting Manager will also aid in the assessment and actions taken related to making sure that the revenue recognition is accurate.

Requirements:

  • B.A. in Accounting and CPA Preferred
  • Demonstrated accounting experience supporting a close in a Public Company setting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP guidelines
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ASC– 605 Revenue Recognition and ASC 606 a plus
  • Prior experience in improving processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Contracts
  • Prior experience working in and improving automated processes
  • Prior management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management
  • Strong background and experience with audit methodologies and techniques
  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team to complete projects

Duties:

  • Oversee the creation and auditing of the company’s sales log
  • Create and communicate the reporting related to the sales on a monthly basis
  • Supervise the testing of automated solutions and identify additional ways to improve processes
  • Review issues for impacts on revenue recognition
  • Assist with special projects within department or as part of cross-functional teams
  • Review agreements and identify issues related to revenue recognition
  • Serve as liaison with IT to ensure that automation meets needs
  • Ensure appropriate accounting and accuracy for the sales numbers
  • Ensure automation fulfills requirements and that there are no gaps in final process that create risks for the company
  • Ensure appropriate revenue is recognized based on transactions
  • Expert in utilizing Excel to support accounting processes
